How to Apply a pass word to a Microsoft Office Word document

 

1. The document you want to apply the pass word must be open. If it is not open, please open it now.

 

2. After opening the document click the Office Button in the top left corner.

 

3. Point the cursor on “Prepare”, a list of options will be displayed in the right side.

 

4. Now click on “Encrypt Document”

 

5. Now another window will appear asking you to enter your pass word.

 

6. Please enter your pass word and click ‘OK’.

 

7. An error in pass word may cause you great trouble and to avoid this trouble it is a general practice that pass words are entered twice to avoid errors hence to avoid this error, another window will appear asking you to re-enter your pass word. Please re-enter your pass word carefully and click ‘OK’.

 

8. You are done and now your document is pass word protected.
